ALUMNI

INTRODUCTION

St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals’ Boat Club (BLBC) was formed following the 1995 merger of two of London’s most prestigious medical schools: the London Hospital Medical College and St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College. As both the oldest hospital rowing club in the country, and the oldest sports club at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, BLBC finds itself steeped in illustrious history.

We are based at the University of London Boathouse on the tideway—at the heart of student rowing in London. The club is presently thriving with a solid membership of highly committed senior athletes, and members who are newer to rowing. We take pride in fostering our newer members’ talents and enabling them to develop their craft on the water.

Our alumni network is ever-expanding, with a push in recent years to rekindle contact with as many previous members as we can. We compile a termly Alumni Newsletter, which you can subscribe to here. You can get in contact with the Club Captain or Alumni Officer via email. Alternatively, we welcome you to interact with us on Instagram or Facebook.

EVENTS

We hold several formal dinners throughout the year, notably the Summer Dinner and Christmas Dinner, which we warmly extend our invitation to any previous members. Check our events page in due course.

BLBC ARCHIVE

We are very keen to build up our archive of the Club’s history. If you have any Club photographs, minutes, trophies or other information significant to the Club, we would love to know! Please get in touch and we can arrange to make copies or take photographs of anything you have to add to our collection.
